Falcons Are 7-0 with Win Over Berkely
Continue Solid Season With Another Great Win

On a beautiful Sunday afternoon in May, the Flying Falcons took to the field to do battle with the Berkeley Cheetahs. With a full squad, the Falcons were ready to play hard against the Cheetahs who had played strong against the Falcons when they met early in the season.

The Falcons got off to a good start, with the majority of play on the Cheetahs side of the field the whole first half. Sophie and Julie played great games pounding the Cheetah defense repeatedly. Nineteen minutes into the game, Marissa hit a great shot on goal that Amanda took and chipped in for an excellent goal and the 1-0 lead. Paige had a great game playing hard all half. Jenny had some great stops in goal. Thirty three minutes in, Rebecca took the ball at midfield and in a move reminiscent of Grace’s goal the previous week, dribbled past multiple defenders to face off against the Cheetah’s goalie and smack the ball in for the 2-0 lead.

In the second half Emma continued to play well, with multiple great crossed balls. Ani and Rebecca added a pair of spectacular head balls that continued to confound the Cheetahs. After the Cheetahs scored late, the end of the game was tense with the Falcons holding off a last minute surge by Berkeley. Ava and Maggie continued to pound at the Cheetahs. When the whistle was blown, the Falcons were victorious with a 2-1 win and a 7-0 start to the season.
